Dr. Jodi Kovach Named Acting Director

Kovach Small Image The Gund is excited to share that Dr. Jodi Kovach has been named Acting Director. In this role, Kovach will oversee the museum’s operations as Daisy Desrosiers continues her transition to the role of Strategic and Artistic Lead and Curator following her appointment as Tate Modern’s Britton Family Curator-at-Large, North America.

On October 15, The Gund also announced a search, led by Management Consultants for the Arts, for a new David and Francie Horvitz Family Foundation Director.

Currently the Pamela and Christopher Hoehn-Saric Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and Education, Kovach has been an integral member of The Gund’s team since 2016. In that position, Kovach is responsible for the development of teaching and learning with contemporary art at The Gund and oversees the robust schedule of programming and partnerships at The Annex, The Gund’s downtown Mount Vernon location. Highlights include two co-edited publications on teaching with art in the museum and the spring 2026 exhibition “Sofía Táboas: A Sensible Place,” for which Kovach integrated student learning into the curatorial process. Kovach also co-teaches interdisciplinary courses at Kenyon College with faculty in the modern languages and literatures and neuroscience departments.

During the transition, Kovach continues to focus on academic priorities and assumes expanded leadership responsibilities to ensure operational continuity while Desrosiers oversees the museum’s artistic program and long-term strategic direction.
