Join us in the gallery during common hour on Tuesday, November 19, and Thursday, November 21, and choose your own adventure through the fall exhibitions with the Gund Associates! Members of the Gund Associates Visitor Experiences team will conduct Art Story Tours, unique narrative excursions through the galleries. Each Associate has developed an Art Story Tour that thematically links three works of art on view, opening multiple compelling ways of experiencing the exhibitions.

Tours today include:

Toms Russ Black Performance and Expression This tour will discuss two of Ming Smith’s works and The Man. It will focus on how Black performance is perceived and uplifted where it has historically been marginalized.

Mosss Szaraz Art and the Otherworldly this tour will explore the intersection of spirituality, identity, and art through one Ming Smiths photographs, My Fathers Tears, and two works in the Bicentennial collection.

Angelia Nguyen Harmony This tour will explore how Ming Smith highlight the nature and human harmony in her 3 works: Black Dance, Flamingo and Nuns in Rome.

Anna Matu Bodily Power This tour will explore the relationship between the human body and artwork, how one affects the other, and how they work together. This tour will explore Heaven by Miroslaw Balka, Untitled #8-#16 (from The Body Object Series) by Ann Hamilton, and The Man by Ragnar Kjartansson.

Ifti Rahman Self in a Changing World This tour will explore the relationships between self and its surroundings, the meaning of self, and how these notions have evolved and continue to evolve over time looking at three works: Heaven, Time Out at the Louvre, and Measuring the Universe.
