Kathleen Ritter is a Canadian artist based in Paris. Her work, which comprises photography, sound, video and text, examines alternate histories in relation to systems of power, lanugage and technology. Her public artwork, Gaslight, was recently installed in Vancouver, Canada, in 2020. Recent exhibitions have taken place at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Montréal; Open Studio and G Gallery, Toronto; and Battat Contemporary, Montréal. Her writing on contemporary art has been published in ESSE, Prefix Photo, Fillip and The Brooklyn Rail, as well as in numerous cataloges. She was an artist in residence at the Cité internationale des Arts in Paris in 2014.
